Nüümü Yadoha Language Program (OVCDC)
The Nüümü Yadoha Language Program is the language initiative of the Owens Valley Career Development Center (OVCDC), based in Bishop, California. Its mission is to preserve, reclaim, and revitalize the languages of the region for future generations.
The program runs Paiute classes across Inyo and Mono Counties (Bishop, Big Pine, Lone Pine, Bridgeport, Benton), and supports related languages elsewhere in central California. It offers in-person instruction, educational videos and language resources, and cultural workshops like storytelling and acorn processing. For a learner looking for living, community-rooted instruction, this is a front door.
This is part of the same revitalization effort described in Revitalization and the Kubishi Dictionary.
