Verb

A verb names an action or state, like eat, drink, go, sit.

In OVP a verb almost never stands alone: it takes a suffix that marks aspect and sometimes tense. So tüka ("to eat") becomes tüka-ti ("is eating"), tüka-ku ("ate"), or tüka-wei ("will eat"). A verb that takes an object is a transitive verb.
