Subject
The subject is who or what is doing the action. In "the coyote is eating," the coyote is the subject.
In OVP, a noun used as a subject must carry a subject suffix. For example, isha'-ii ("the coyote," nearby) or -uu (far). Subject Pronouns like nüü ("I") do not need a suffix. Because that suffix marks the role, the subject can sit anywhere in the sentence without changing the meaning.
